living city 1

My last project I had to do for a class this semester was to depict a "living city". I of course took this very literally and quickly set out drawing concepts for a fungus-like futuristic city that literally grew and behaved like a real fungus or mold would. This city would spread and grow over the Earth in a post-apocalyptic future, destroying and devouring the crumbling cities around it for raw supplies.
In this first set of drawings I'm coming up with the basic design for the city and the wall that moves around it, which would be the part that does the actual destroying and devouring. Around the middle there's a brief sequence where I study how the city itself would grow and expand, at the bottom I've already started doing interiors.
These are just the sketches as I've yet to receive the finished project back from my teacher. bleh
